LOS ANGELES, CA – At 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 23, 2009, AArrow Sign Spinners will be recognized for completing the AArrow Advertising /Los Angeles City College Entrepreneurial Training Academy and the Work Readiness Certification process through the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce during the CCD-Wilshire Metro WorkSource Center’s Summer Youth Employment Culmination Event at the historic La Fonda Restaurant at 2501 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. AArrow Advertising, a long-standing promoter of the City’s Hire LA Youth Programs, will provide sign spinners to entertain outside the restaurant and on stage before 150 guests, including VIPs and participating employers. The event celebrates the completion of Wilshire Metro’s Summer Youth Employment Program, funded by the City of Los Angeles Community Development Department with funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, providing 140 hours of meaningful work experience and comprehensive professional training to over 100 youth ages 14-24. In addition, the event highlights AArrow Advertising’s Entrepreneurial Training Academy designed in partnership with LA City College and recognizes AArrow Advertising as a high-quality employer through the City’s Hire LA’s Youth Program. AArrow Sign Spinners will entertain on stage before keynote speaker and President of the City of LA Workforce Investment Board Greg Irish and Division Chief of the State of CA Employment Development Department Michael Dolphin. Also attending will be the chiefs of LAPD and Los Angeles Fire Department as well as celebrity guest Lejon ‘Pirate’ Stewart from the film Pirates of the Caribbean. The AArrow Entrepreneurial Training Academy is expected to expand nationwide. The second phase of training will focus on financial management, business and communication skills and the transfer of units to an accredited four-year university. The goal is to provide a select group of managers with intensive entrepreneurial training through USC and Georgetown University on franchise ownership and operation. “In addition to providing opportunities to network and learn, The AArrow Entrepreneurial Training Academy allows our youth employees between the ages of 16 to 24 to earn certification leading toward a college education,” Director of Public Relations for AArrow Inc.
