PHOENIX, AZ – On Sunday February 15th, 2009, 17-year-old San Diego native Teddy Hale was named the 2009 AArrow Sign Spinning World Champion at the W Scottsdale, 7277 E. Camelback Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona. Hale beat out 15 professional sign spinners, between the ages of 16-24, from across the nation at the annual sign spinning competition that was sponsored by 944 Magazine. Hale received a $1,000 cash prize for first place and now holds the title of the AArrow Sign Spinning World Champion. Hale has been working with AArrow Advertising for four years and has serviced clients such as Jenny Craig, Snoop Dogg, Vitamin Water, Round Table Pizza and Bud Light in San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Texas, Seattle and Northern California. Hale placed fifth at the west coast competition and worked hard preparing his choreographed routine for this event. “I totally wasn’t expecting to become the AArrow Sign Spinning World Champion, but I think I won by finishing off with my trademarked move the ‘Thunder Smash’," Teddy Hale said. “I spin the sign real quick behind my back then catch it between my legs, do a handstand and smash the sign to the ground!” Hale plans to open a bank account and deposit the money to start a college fund. He says his best experience working as a sign spinner was winning the 2009 competition.
