Sign Spinners were covering the grand opening of the Beyers Landing home community by Lennars Homes in Atlanta just recently. Lennar homes promoted there new development by going to Braves games and having sign spinners pointing game attendees in the right direction to see demonstrations and more. They definitely gained a lot of buzz for Lennar at games every weekend! Keep it up the great work spinners!
T-Mobile received great exposure in Nashville, Miami, and Tampa all due to the hard work of our Sign Spinners. For three days, they had 8 spots for 7 hours each day! It was three long days of work of spinning but it was all worth it because they had successfully sold 133 units by spinning! We love our spinners and their hard work!
Fox News reporter Beth Parker caught up with Michael Paterson, Georgetown University franchise owner recently. She got to see some of our sign spinners in action during their training. "These guys practice at two or three in the morning sometimes. They make their own highlight reels," says Patterson. The Sign Spinners have to be ready for any kind of weather that may come there way.
Sign Spinning is not easy, but they always have an audience! They also have scars frim signs hitting them at times but its all worth it and pays off. Paterson mentioned that when he sees them having fun and doing there job well they can get a raise. Sign Spinning pays $10/hr and at Georgetown they are making every spin worth it!
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -Many of us have seen them on the streets, waving signs in hopes of getting a driver's attention and ultimately their business. The growing phenomenon of sign spinning is putting a new spin on advertising.
"We do a little trick, do a little dance, something to catch their attention," sign spinner Erwin Pacheco said.
Want inexpensive advertising? High technology isn't always the answer. Get a guy with attitude and a sign.In a tough economy with shrinking advertising budgets, it is a sign of the times.Pacheco says he hopes the drivers on White Bridge Road see him, smile, and then visit the bookstore that his 6-foot sign points to.If you can't stop, give him a honk.
"It's a natural boost of energy. People see you, give high five, tossing you a tip of some kind, even giving you a bottle of water," Pacheco said. "Whatever, it's cool. Makes your day a lot better."
Pacheco says he sees the stares his antics produce. They are a sign that his sign show is working. And he's no amateur."I trained under the best, under four of the top spinners in the world," he said. After three years of sign spinning on streets nationwide, he's a marketing mercenary."Doing this six to eight hours a day? Not fun, so they started spinning, doing twirls, see how many girls' numbers they could get. Why not? Having a little fun is always good on the job," Pacheco said.
It takes five days of intensive sign spinning training to be considered for these dynamic advertising opportunities. The spinners must also put in at least two hours a week of serious practice, all designed to get your attention and your business.

"Haha it means a lot actually, all of those countless hours sign spinning paid off plus, now I have the bragging right to say I'm the PR champ hahaha."

"Well, my goal at the moment is to be in the top 20s and make everyone here proud."
4. Other than winning, what was the highlight of the competition for you?

AArrow Sign Spinners are not just highly trained advertising professionals.
They're also performers and entertainers, which is why the Georgetown Hoyas asked AArrow to get the crowd going during their home games at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., having 12 AArrow Sign Spinners perform a choreographed routine on the court for 15,000 fans in attendance. and thousands more on ESPN2.
Guardian Capital is a real estate company in San Diego. They normally do single family units but every once in a while when they are feeling a bit wacky, they like to try their hand at Multi Unit lots. Thus came Canyon Ridge, the community we spin (maybe 'spun' at this point) for.
It started as 10 units that were not getting a single piece of traffic on the weekends, even after using some 'useless' sign holding company. It just so happens though that the sales/marketing manager remembered us from her old Khov days at Bella Lago in Chula Vista. She called me up late on a thursday, we got her 2 spinners that very weekend and they saw about 10 cars on Saturday and 8 on Sunday.
From 0-18 in one weekend is a huge improvement. She said to keep the amazing service coming- and we did.
"Top notch group of guys. I have worked with Mike Wright before when I worked with Khovnanian and would not of been happy if he was not still with the company. Great Job!!! When I am done selling these homes I hope to start a new project and will definitely use AArrow again"

AArrow Sign Spinners have been spinning over the last month for one of AArrow’s biggest client: Wendys!
Wendys challenged AArrow by giving us their eight lowest performing stores to improve all of their sales. For one month AArrow Sign Spinners spun at two stores four hours a day and killed it.
Here are some of our favorite quotes from his interview:
"I’ve always been good at it [sign spinning]."
"Spinning signs attracts attention. More importantly, it’s a fun activity, which increases the workers’ morale. People like to see happy spinners."
"Locally, it’s a small community. But Aarrow is an international franchise. Sign spinners from around the world keep in contact with one another. The veterans all know one another. We’ve all spun signs together and competed against each other."
When Justin Brown performed on ROVE LA in a segment featuring AArrow Sign Spinners,
FOX8 knew they had a very unique marketing medium on their hands.
So it was no suprise that when Justin arrived in Sydney,
they hired him right away to promote for the show.
They targeted not only local high traffic areas, but internationally famous locations like
the Queen Victoria Building, Bondi Beach, and the Pitt Street Mall.
The video and pictures speak for themselves!

He’s a keeper!” were just some of the kind words this person expressed in the letter. Good job Aarrow!

The next generation of McDonald's® arrived in Surprise, Arizona on August 25th. The new McDonald's is on 14553 W. Grand Ave. Surprise, AZ 85374. Ray Rivera, 2010 World Sign Spinning Champion, was recently interviewed by the Washington Post. In the article Ray talks about his life before AArrow and what he has learned as a result of being an AArrow Sign Spinner.
Here's an exerpt from the article:
"This job takes personality, eye-hand coordination and stamina, soI was a good spinner from the get-go. The hardest part is not looking at your watch. I’drather get hit in the chin or the face with a sign than look at my watch and realize I’ve only been standing out there for 10 minutes. Thing is, you can never turn it off because your audience changes every two minutes. Someone new pulls up to that intersection, and they’ve got to see the best Ray of the day, not the one who just realized he’s got another five hours to go."
"Thank you for working with us by presenting the best sign spinners in the country to our businesses. We know schedules have been hectic lately but we have seen a dramatic increase in our revenues from what you bring to us. Sales are climbing so fast we can barely keep up and most new customers inform us that the sign spinners are the reason they stopped in to see us. For that, we would like to continue utilizing your company for our advertising efforts at both locations. In addition, we are currently in the process of expanding to 2 additional locations within the next month."
Wow! - What a great day our opening was! - Sorry it has taken me this long to send this but I wanted to take the time to express to you how much we truly appreciated the usage of your sign spinning team and the great job they did! So many people commented on how cool it was that we had your team drawing in traffic for us. At one point in my day, I had stepped out for an errand and watched one of your spinners (Shawna) get right into it, making eye contact and pointing an directing everyone to our centre. It was awesome to watch. The gentleman who took over for the afternoon shift was a character and he even did a little show-boating for the crowd outside the centre.

Many people dread the thought of getting out of bed in the morning, and thus approach the day with a negative attitude and a limited amount of energy. The age old adage that you get out of something what you put into it applies to your day as well, and getting off to a slow start in the morning means a less fulfilling personal, home and social life. For me, the hours between 6am and 9am on Monday morning are the most important ones all week; the mental planning that I do and the routine that I engage in sets the tone for the next seven days.
Some of my tricks for rocking the morning include:
1. Put the alarm clock on the other side of the room. If you have it right next to the bed it is easy to subconciously reach over and hit the snooze button, or even worse turn it off entirely.
2. Get some fresh air. I am fortunate enough to have a dog that needs to be let out first thing in the morning, which forces me to get outside as well. I have noticed that the sounds from nature (or the 101 freeway) combined with the fresh air (/smog) get my brain's juices flowing.
3. Excercise. Whatever your thing is: running, yoga, lifting, swimming; try and do some form of it in the morning. Maybe you don't have time to do a 10k before work, but a 15 minute jog or 100 sit-ups would certainly not make you late and will get your heart rate up.
4. Strong coffee. One scoop per cup is my rule of thumb, and I prefer a bold dark roast.
5. Good jazz. I love classic jazz, and a few of my favorites in the morning are Stan Getz, Thelonius Monk and Wardell Gray. Anything high energy.
6. Plan the whole week out. Instead of being overwhelmed by "all of the things I have to do", I use that inventory of tasks to plan my week out and make sure that I have my allocated towards the most productive activities. This way, even if it takes me all day to get the first thing on my list done, I know that I was working on the most important thing.
7. Make early commitments to others. We have our corporate conference call at 9am on Mondays, which means that even if I want to sleep in I can't. I would never let the team down like that.
8. Check off a couple of easy tasks. We all have little things we have to do that are menial, but take up precious time. I try and get these things out of the way early, when there are fewer people out and about to slow me down. This means taking advantage of businesses that open early such as dry cleaners or grocery stores.
9. Dress for success. As anyone who as worked with me over the last 9 years knows, a shirt and tie is required on Monday. The whole team gets together on Monday, and my meeting with them is the most important one that I will take all week, so why not show them the respect the deserve by dressing appropriately.
10. If you don't feel good, fake it. After a couple of hours the network effect of your attitude, smile and energy will be reciprocated by those around you and your smiles will be authentic in no time.
Finally, remember the African proverb that Thomas Friedman retold in his book, The World is Flat:
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion
or it will be killed...
Every morning a lion wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle
or it will starve to death.
It doesnt matter whether you are
a lion or a gazelle...
when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.

“It was a record turnout! Shawn the spinner was great. The sign looks perfect and I am one happy camper. It was the first weekend the home was on the market and by Monday morning we were entertaining offers! I thought the real estate market was supposed to be slow. Thank you for a job well done!”

Their sign spinners have consistently provided their best effort to attract passersby to our stores and dealer locations and raise overall awareness of our store presence within communities and neighborhoods around town. “Working with the AArrow Advertising Denver crew was streamlined, effective and reliable. In a crazy April blizzard, the sign spinner showed up 10 minutes early for his 7 a.m. shift. We were able to effectively increase our location's visibility and land a fairly sizable corporate account. All of this was based completely off the exposure the AArrow Sign Spinner created. We will continue to use the services of AArrow Advertising to draw attention to our retail locations.”

“We built an entire concept around the sign spinners for our recent McDonald’s campaign. We thought we would have to go out of town to find the kind of talent we were searching for. The personality, energy, and spirit exhibited by the AArrow Sign Spinners brought our campaign to life. They were so much a part of the campaign that it allowed us to utilize them for additional PR as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them for future projects.”

“Typically we use spinners near our locations to attract business. We’re targeting both blue and white collar clientele. On days we use them we see a drastic improvement in sales. Up to $600 a day.We use AArrow Sign Spinners to direct traffic to our stores first thing in the morning. It’s perfect for us because we are able to reach our target market on their way to work and help them start their day out with a smile. Stores that use AArrow Sign Spinners have had a 30-40% increase in sales whenever the spinners are out there. Not only do the spinners attract tons of attention, but AArrow’s staff is polite and responsive to company needs.”

“The AArrow Sign Spinners are 100% Kultivate and their way of super interactive marketing helped us showcase our brand concept: conformity kills. When the sign spinners were in Barcelona for Kultivate, they created a lot of exposure that helped get the attention of potential buyers at the fair, when we didn’t even have a booth there. AArrow has a unique way of grabbing attention in front of large crowds, being infinitely more effective than traditional 'static' advertising!”

“Thank you AArrow Advertising of the Tri-Cities for helping Real-to-Reel Cinemas with our Kick Ass Movie Campaign. I can't believe how quickly the AArrow Sign Spinners were able to get our campaign on the streets and directly in front of the people. The exposure was fabulous, the lead time remarkable and the effect was both interactive and fun! Sign spinning is a new, exciting and affordable way to advertise and I will absolutely recommend AArrow Advertising!”

“The sign spinner was something totally foreign to marketing efforts at State Farm and CA became the first Zone in the Enterprise to use this tactic to reach consumers. Not only did it help increase the awareness of our rate reduction campaign, it became such a huge hit with our Good Neighbor State Farm Agents, many of them wanted to create their own signs and have their staff "spinning" messages. Along with the billboards and aerial signage we bought over the 4th of July weekend, the sign spinners fit perfectly into our plans.”

“I continually use the word effective because being effective is so important to us. We are not on a busy street, we are tucked away off the busy street so what AArrow sign spinners do is basically create a stir and we use the term ‘drive the train’. Basically AArrow drives the train of people to our property. People spend millions of dollars on TV advertising and you really hope that certain type of clientele is watching. But when you are in a car at a stop light and you see someone point in the direction of the product, you think, I’m in my car right now; I’ll go take a look. It’s amazing, that’s what we really wanted and that’s what we are getting.”

“AArrow Sign Spinners have the look of a more professional and respectable company to do business with. When we use spinners it helps people locate our events and also raises questions about the chamber and AArrow Advertising .I first saw AArrow Sign Spinning on the corner of 2nd and Beech and I was attracted by how motivated the sign spinner was and how he was enjoying his job, while advertising for a condo complex. Anyone looking to promote their business or event in a professional manner should use AArrow Advertising. AArrow Advertising does a lot of good for the community and the county by helping young kids with jobs and responsibility.”

Thank you for working with us by presenting the best sign spinners in the country to our businesses. In addition, we are currently in the process of expanding to 2 additional locations within the next month.
